This is my 2D Platformer Tutorial Project

Proposed Modifications:

1) I definitely want to change up the music for the main menu, and other levels within the game

2) I want to completely scrap the levels that were made in the tutorial and change up the design of the world to be more of an open world-ish type of game, and to prevent the player from going too off task, I will add a massive toxic ocean preventing them from progressing. So there will be multiple challenging levels.

3) Im going to try and make a new enemy with different features, like size and maybe I can create a script of my own that allows the new enemy to do something none of the others can.

I am also going to try and potentially reskin the character, although I am not too much of a fan of the idea of trying to reskin the character because I attempted to reskin the character in my 2D shooter and faced difficulty with making my reskin appear, and this project requires me to create falling, dying, and running animations, so there's no guarantee I'll have time to complete this modification.

I really like the modifications that you're proposing! I can tell that you put time and effort into thinking up some unique ways to change the game and am looking forward to seeing how everything turns out. Nice work!

The best advice that I can give you in terms of level design would be to make sure that each level has some sort of unique identifier. New types of challenges, enemies, obstacles, or powerups can massively help with this. Putting some time into playtesting and differentiating your levels (to figure out, from a player's perspective, how the level plays) can also give you some direction in how to design things.
